Undergraduate Student Orientation

Undergraduate Student Orientation

How do I become an AU student?

There are two application procedures for new students to AU. If you need a refresher on the different types of AU students, please refer back to “What kind of students enroll at AU?” in Unit 1.

Program Application Procedures

If you are enrolling as a program student, you will need to follow the procedures on the Undergraduate Application web page.

When you start the process, you will be taken to the ApplyAlberta application service where you will be asked to complete the first stage of the application process. ApplyAlberta is a secure online application and transcript exchange system that will allow you to

  • apply to one or more of Alberta’s public post-secondary institutions, and
  • authorize participating Alberta institution(s) to request the transfer of your Alberta high school and post-secondary transcripts.

You may find it helpful to preview the application process video on the right-hand side of the ApplyAlberta home page before starting this process.

  • Note that with the exception of our Bachelor of Nursing program, AU does not require you to submit your high school transcripts.

After you have completed the ApplyAlberta phase of the process, you will be taken to the AU application page where you will complete the process and pay your application fee. If you are requesting a transfer credit evaluation, you will be required to pay that fee as well. More information on transfer credit is found in Unit 3.

Non-Program Application Procedures

If you are enrolling as a non-program (unclassified) student, you will follow the procedures found on the Take a Course page. Simply complete the application process and pay the applicable fee.
